A short fanfic written by Canadanne in April 2021. Set at the end of Knightmare Series 4, it depicts the aftermath of dungeoneer Giles (Team 8 of Series 4) using a SNIFF bottle to incapacitate wellway guard Fatilla. Drawing inspiration from the tragic 2018 poisonings in Wiltshire, it seeks to explain how the maid Mellisandre "met her end between the jaws of a marauding Cavernwight", as stated on her Knightmare Top Trumps card in The Quest Vol.3 No.2. There are allusions to two other quests (Team 7 of Series 4 and Team 6 of Series 1), as well as a small nod to the lyrics of Jim Steinman, whose death was announced on the day of the story's conception.
